The Apple Tree is Reopening Under New Management

Hello to all,

I’m Lorrianne, speaking on behalf of all the team at The Apple Tree, on Mount Pleasant.

As you may know, The Apple Tree was recently sold by Greene King. As the new owners, we are proud to say that we will be re-opening The Apple Tree as a Public House to serve both the local and wider community.

Our team comes from a background of running events, talks, theatre, workshops and festivals with an inclusive and LGBT+ focus. We intend to bring this non-discriminatory ethos to both the management and customers of The Apple Tree.

Inside we’ve changed the decor and paintwork, but our emphasis remains on creating a homely space that serves affordable, good quality food and drink. We aim to source as many of our products and services locally as possible; our staff are paid London living wage or above; and we extend a warm welcome to local residents, parents, dog-owners and folk from all walks of life.

We are aiming to expand the use of the upstairs function room and the downstairs area by hosting a variety of talks, groups, rehearsals, shows and more. These will largely be curated by and for LGBTQIA+ people, but we are also keen to collaborate with local businesses and community groups.

If you might like to know a little more, come and join us for our soft launch on the 14th of June. We would love to offer you a free drink, discuss our plans for the future and find out what we can do to serve your needs. Where possible, please do RSVP to us at the email address below if you can come so that we can get an idea of drinks, but if you can’t, do just pop in anyway, you will be very welcome. We will be open from 4pm, so join us anytime from then.

Thanks for your time, and we hope to meet you soon!

Lorrianne and The Apple Tree team.
